If you look at the seal of Shivaji Maharaj which was given by his great father Shahaji Raje Bhosale, you will understand that, becoming Chatrapati was not something which was not planned. Shivaji Maharaj’s seal clearly tells the complete story.
Seal says, “Like a Crescent moon, grows the kingdom of Shivaji, son of Shahaji, always seeking the welfare of the people.”
Seal of Shivaji Maharaj, is the first seal which speaks about welfare of people, however seal of the other sultan’s and Badshaha speaks about his own greatness or speaks about their religion. Seal of Shivaji Maharaj is biggest differentiator of among the rest.
Seal of Shivaji Maharaj shows his ambition from very first day where he declared open war against Adilshaha and Mugal empire. Very importantly his ambition was not becoming King and then rule the kingdom, in fact he build a kingdom first which was always seeking for welfare of the people. He became heart of his people, earned trust and then he became King of his kingdom. From personal front, he became greatest son who achieved all his father’s dream. Unfortunately, his father was not there to see that great ceremony while his son becoming Chatrapati, but that luck was given by God to his great mother Jijabai Saheb.
From political front, it was need of that time and time was come for the world to recognise Shivaji Maharaj as sovereign. It was open message to all his enemy’s. In fact, it was official announcement of his recognition as King that would put him on par with the Mugal Emperor Aurangzeb and the Sultan of Bijapur, Adilshaha.
Just imagine that ceremony. Even after 344 years people celebrate this ceremony as national festival which gives them tremendous enthusiasm and boost for rest of life. This is not small thing all together.
