Normally, there are some people who work together to achieve some goals. In other word we call it as project. To execute that project successfully there are many hands work together. As we know “Project has no end if project has no strategy”. That means, the very first step of any project is ‘strategy’. To define that strategy there should be one person who work and think on this. Of course, the person who defines the strategy needs to be matured enough to understand the importance and profundity of the project along with strength of everyone from the team. Importantly, he/she needs to fight from front.
Unfortunately, there are millions of people who can talk on management very nicely but I can see huge gap when it comes to the implementation. There are some very important areas which really causing this gap.
- Most of the “Managers” are just focusing on system, structure, policies and many things to control the work. But nobody wants to focus on people.
- Most of the “Managers” are trying to control the people from the team but nobody wants to inspire them.
- Most of the “Managers” are dealing with only two words “How and When” but nobody is not at all interested in “What and Why”.
- Most of the “Managers” are more interested in “What is deadlines” but no one focus on “How to achieve deadline”
- Most of the “Managers” are focusing on “Do the right things” but no one interested in “Doing right things”
Well, there are many things which we can talk on this. People are just focusing on the theory part of it. That’s why management has become just one subject to write and read on. But base line is what needs to be done and what is happening. In above five points which I have mentioned second half of each statement is what we need to focus. So that we can get more better results. To do so, word “Manager” needs to replace by “Leader”.
Also, there are many disagreements about ‘Leader’. Some people will not agree with the leader and keep talking about how he/she can do the things better. However, this is very easiest job in the world. Because talking about other person’s ability and finding discrepancy is anyways easy job. If you know how to do things better than who is currently doing, then why don’t you take lead and start doing it on your own? If there is leader and you are follower then your first job is to support him/her in anyways. There might be some cases where you might think that your leader needs some suggestions. You are free to discuss with him/her if there is no worry of Deficit.
Either you follow your leader or lead. If you are not comfortable with any of this then better “Quit”.
